I had the chance to work as content designer and editor for Chase & Status during the release of their album What Came Before.
Rather than revisiting old tracks, the duo created new pieces inspired by their past work, reinterpreting their own legacy through a fresh lens. This thinking carried directly into the visuals direction of the accompanying tour, merging archival materials with modern design to create a living collage of Chase & Status’ history.
The creative approach combined mixed media, digital collage, and data driven storytelling. We sourced and repurposed artefacts from Chase & Status’ archive which included tickets, magazines, vinyl sleeves, merchandise, wristbands, and vintage rave flyers. They were then digitally distorted and layered into new visual forms and woven together with data from the album’s release, such as sales figures and global audience reach, creating visuals that felt both historical and alive.
My role spanned archiving artefacts, animation, editing, and building full visuals and VJ loops, helping translate the album’s concept into a cohesive visual experience.
The tour visuals became an extension of What Came Before and a sensory collage of sound, memory, and motion that honoured Chase & Status’ history .
